Medipoint is a healthcare app aiming to transform the way providers connect with patients. It affords providers access into their telehealth platform, visibility to upcoming patient queue and ability to video call with their patients, all from the comfort of mobile and tablet devices. Medipoint maintains a high level of security while accessing and reviewing patient information with ease.

Challenges & Design Solutions

Improve accessibility and flexibility for providers.

Challenge
Providers often face the need to communicate with patients or colleagues outside of traditional office hours or when they are away from the clinic.

Solution
The app allows providers to stay connected with their practice and patients anytime via Video Call. The Video Call functionality provides the variety of functions as sharing, messaging, and even remote camera controls which are equal utility to the full desktop version.

Enable mobility in patient case management.

Challenge
Managing patient cases can be cumbersome, especially when providers need to move around different locations

Solution
Case Management consolidates patient case information, making it easily accessible and manageable from a mobile device.

Reduce time for referral and rapid consults with oncall providers

Challenge
When a provider needs to refer a patient to a specialist or another provider, finding the right contact can be time-consuming.

Solution
A comprehensive Provider On Call calendar lets you identify who is on call right now, and who is on call later for a given specialty. While a more traditional directory allows providers to quickly search for and connect with colleagues, speeding up the referral process and ensuring patients receive timely care.

Bridge communication gaps to reduce time to patient care.

Challenge
Ensuring continuity of care is crucial for patient outcomes.

Solution

Inline Case Messaging helps providers easily access the right colleagues for consultations, collaborative care, or follow-up on patient cases, thus enhancing the continuity and quality of care provided to patients.

Notify providers and facilitate their timely participation in workflow.

Challenge
Time to care is a critical factor in some use cases such as telestroke or ICU. The provider needs to know what urgent actions should be taken and be able to directly participate in the delivery of care while oncall and mobile.

Solution
A robust notifications system based on workflow rules to automatically escalate to the next oncall provider if the primary does not reply in the required time window. The provider should have ability to manage their own profile and notifications settings to ensure they are notified only for what they care most about and to avoid unnecessary disruption, with in product help tutorials to self resolve.
