TV Kits enable healthcare providers to transform existing TVs into sleek, digital access points in every patient room, helping to address personnel shortages and burnout. Key use cases include virtual nursing, virtual rounding, eSitting, Care Coordination and Isolation Room Monitoring.

Challenges & Design Solutions

Virtual Nursing

Challenge

Nursing shortages often lead to diminished patient interaction and care, especially in environments where nurses are responsible for multiple patients simultaneously.

Design Solution

The implementation of an “Observe Mode” with intuitive camera controls allows nurses to monitor patients remotely in real-time, reducing the need for constant in-person check-ins. This design decision alleviates workload by enabling nurses to efficiently oversee multiple patients.

eSitting

Challenge

Patients requiring continuous observation, such as those at risk of falls or self-harm, often need dedicated personnel, placing additional strain on healthcare resources.

Design Solution

Through the integration of flexible camera grids, “eSitting” allows staff to remotely monitor multiple patients from one screen. This feature not only maximizes the reach of a single caregiver but also reduces the number of in-room staff. Implementations of this design have reported a reduction in staffing needs for patient monitoring.

Isolation Room Monitoring

Challenge

Monitoring patients in isolation, especially during infectious outbreaks, is resource-intensive, as staff must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and risk exposure upon entering and exiting the room.

Design Solution

The “Talk-to-Patient Mode” enables healthcare professionals to interact with isolated patients without physically entering the room, minimizing the use of PPE and exposure risks.
